4T65E Transmission Shift Solenoid and Filter Kit 24230298

This is the shift solenoid and filter package for the GM 4T65E transaxle, replacing OE numbers 24230298 and 10478120. It covers the 1-2 / 2-3 A and B shift solenoids along with the torque converter clutch PWM downshift solenoid and the pan filter and gasket, so one order handles the whole electrical side of a solenoid job instead of three separate part numbers. Listed fitment is 1993-1997 4T65E and 4L60E units.

A 4T65E that flares between second and third, hangs in one gear, or drops to limp mode is usually telling you a shift solenoid has gone electrically open or is sticking. The same 24230298 solenoid is behind the classic P0753 and P0758 shift solenoid circuit codes. Because the solenoids sit under the pan, you are already draining fluid and pulling the filter to reach them, which is why the filter and pan gasket are in the kit.

On the bench the job is straightforward: drop the pan, pull the old filter, unclip the solenoid connectors at the valve body, unbolt the solenoids, and transfer the new units in with clean O-rings seated square in their bores. Snug the retaining bolts by hand feel, not with an impact - the aluminum valve body strips easily. Reinstall the new filter with the seal fully pressed into the pump bore, set the pan gasket dry, and refill with Dexron VI before clearing codes and running a road test through all gears.

This is an aftermarket kit, not ACDelco. It is the right call on a high-mileage daily driver where the transmission is otherwise healthy and you want the shift fault gone without a rebuild bill. If the unit is already slipping under load or burning fluid, solenoids will not save it - the clutches are the problem.
