Complete 6F35 valve body with the solenoid pack and harness installed, for Ford Escape and Fusion units with harsh or delayed shifts.
This is a complete valve body for the Ford 6F35 six-speed transaxle with the shift solenoids and the internal wiring harness already installed, so it goes in as one assembly instead of being rebuilt piece by piece on the bench. It covers the early 6F35 units: Escape 2008-2011 (2.0L, 2.3L, 2.5L, 3.0L), Fusion 2009-2011 (2.5L, 3.0L), Mazda Tribute 2008-2011 (2.3L, 2.5L, 3.0L), Mercury Mariner 2009-2011 (2.0L, 2.5L, 3.0L) and Mercury Milan 2009-2011 (2.5L, 3.0L).
The 6F35 gets its bad reputation from this part. Bore wear in the aluminum body and a tired solenoid pack show up as a harsh or banging 1-2 shift, a long delay before the truck moves in drive, flare between gears, or converter clutch shudder at light throttle around 40 mph. Solenoid performance and pressure control codes in the P0745 through P0770 and P0960 through P0966 range usually point straight back here, and once the bores are worn no amount of fresh fluid fixes it.
On the bench or on the car it comes out from under the pan. Drop the fluid, pull the pan and filter, unplug the case connector, back out the valve body bolts and lower the old body off the case, keeping the manual valve linked to the detent lever. Transfer nothing over - the solenoids and harness are already on this unit. Set the new body in place with the manual valve engaged on the detent pin, run the bolts down evenly, then install a new filter and pan gasket and refill with MERCON LV. The 6F35 is a fill-to-check-plug transaxle, so set the level with the truck level and the fluid at operating temperature, not by eye.
Aftermarket replacement unit, not a Ford part, sold with a six month warranty by the manufacturer. Verify your transmission is a 6F35 before ordering - the 6F50 and 6F55 units used in the larger cars take a different body.
