6L45 Transmission Master Rebuild Kit for Cadillac CTS

Master rebuild kit for the GM 6L45 and 6L45E, the light-duty member of the Hydra-Matic six-speed rear-drive family that shares its architecture with the 6L50, 6L80 and 6L90. It ships as a complete overhaul set: friction plates, steel plates, gaskets and the seal and sealing ring kit, so a teardown can go back together in one pass instead of waiting on individual parts.

Fitment covered by this kit: Cadillac CTS 2.8L 2007-2011, Cadillac SRX 4.6L 2006-2009, Cadillac STS 4.6L 2006-2010, and Cadillac XLR 4.6L 2006-2009. Manufacturer part number AHM-QMP-I12D0393.

These units typically come in for delayed or flaring upshifts, a shudder that shows up under light throttle, or a burnt clutch pack found on the pan magnet. The frictions and steels in this kit replace the wear items that cause that, and the gasket and seal set covers what has to come off to get to them. On the bench, strip the case, air-check each clutch circuit before reassembly, and set clutch pack clearance to spec with the selective plates as you stack each drum. Soak new frictions in clean fluid before installing them.

This is a soft-parts overhaul kit. It does not include hard parts, the pump, the valve body, the torque converter, or the filter, so plan on a filter and fresh fluid with the job.
