6L45E/CL45E Transmission Filter & Pan Gasket Kit BMW

Filter and oil pan gasket for the GM-built 6L45E automatic that BMW badges as the CL45E (GA6L45R). It is the strainer that sits under the pan and feeds the pump, plus the gasket that seals the pan back to the case. Fitment covers the rear-wheel-drive and xDrive cars that run this transmission: 128i 2008-2013 (3.0L), 328i 2007-2013 (3.0L), 328i xDrive 2009-2013, 328xi 2007-2008, M3 2008-2013 (4.0L), X3 3.0si 2007-2008, and X3 xDrive30i 2009-2010. On the bench the job is straightforward: drop the pan, pull the old filter off the valve body pickup and set the new one so its seal seats fully, lay the new gasket dry, then torque the pan bolts in a cross pattern and refill with the correct spec fluid to the check-plug level. A clogged or collapsing filter starves the pump and shows up as delayed engagement, harsh or flaring shifts, and higher operating temperature, so this is the part to change any time you service the fluid.
