Replaces the internal filter and pan gasket in GM 6T70 and 6T75 six-speed transaxles (OEM 24223670), the service you do when the unit is apart for a rebuild or reseal.
This is the internal transmission filter and pan gasket for the GM 6T70 and 6T75 six-speed front-wheel-drive transaxle, and it also covers the Ford 6F50 and 6F55 that share the architecture. It replaces GM part 24223670 and interchanges with 24240104 and Ford 7T4Z-7A098-B. You will find these units under a long list of GM and Ford crossovers and sedans: Malibu, Impala, Equinox, Traverse, Acadia, Enclave, Terrain, LaCrosse, SRX, XTS, Edge, Explorer, Flex, Taurus, and the Police Interceptor sedans and utilities.
One thing to know before you order: on the 6T70/6T75 the main filter lives up inside the channel plate, not in an easily dropped bottom pan. Getting to it means the unit comes out and the case comes apart, so this is the filter and gasket you install during a rebuild or a reseal, not a quick fluid-and-filter service in the driveway. If a shop quoted you a simple pan drop on one of these, that is not how this transmission is built.
A restricted or collapsed filter on a high-mileage 6T70 shows up as slipping on the 1-2 or 2-3, delayed engagement when cold, a shudder, or pump whine as it starves for fluid. Any time one of these is open on the bench, the filter is a wear item that goes back in new along with a fresh pan gasket so the pan seals clean and the pump pulls full, unrestricted fluid. Buy it with the overhaul, not after.
