Master overhaul kit for the Toyota A750E and A750F five-speed: frictions, steels, seals, gaskets and rings for 4Runner, Tacoma, Tundra and GX470.
This is a full master overhaul kit for the Toyota A750E (2WD) and A750F (4WD) five-speed automatic, the transmission behind the 1GR-FE 4.0L V6 and 2UZ-FE 4.7L V8. It covers 4Runner 2003-2008, FJ Cruiser 2007-2014, Land Cruiser 2000-2014, Sequoia 2005-2008, Tacoma 4.0L 2005-2014, Tundra 2005-2014, Lexus GX470 2003-2009 and LX470 2003-2007. It replaces the T17300A, T17302A, T173080A and T173081A overhaul kits.
What is in the box: the friction plate set for all clutch packs, the matching steel plate set, the full gasket and rubber seal set, the metal-clad lip seals, sealing rings and the O-rings for the valve body and pump. That is everything that is consumable in a standard rebuild, so once the case is split you are not waiting on a second order for a seal you did not know was cut.
The A750 fails in a fairly predictable pattern. Direct and B3 brake clutch material goes first on trucks that tow or run oversized tires, and it shows up as a flare on the 2-3 shift or a delayed engagement when cold. The other common one is hardened lip seals in the drum and pump letting apply pressure bleed off, which drives the same symptom without any burnt smell. Either way the fix is the same teardown, and both the frictions and the seals in this kit address it.
Bench notes: air-check every drum after you stack it and before the case goes back together, measure clutch pack clearance rather than assuming the new frictions are the same thickness as what came out, and soak the new frictions in clean Toyota WS fluid for at least fifteen minutes before assembly. The A750 uses WS fluid only - do not fill it with Dexron.
