Input Shaft Puller Tool for Audi 0B5 S tronic Transmission

This is a dedicated puller for drawing the input shaft assembly out of a VAG dual-clutch or multitronic case. It does the job of the factory special tools T40050 and T40123, so you can pull the shaft straight and square instead of heating the case or levering on the housing.

Fitment covers the Audi 0B5 (DL501) seven-speed S tronic, the 0AW and 01J multitronic CVT units, the 01T, and the Porsche PDK gearbox. Those are the transmissions where the input shaft is a press fit into the case and there is no room to get a conventional two- or three-jaw puller behind the flange. Check your gearbox code on the case tag before ordering, since VAG ran several unit families in the same chassis years.

On the bench, the puller bolts to the shaft flange and the forcing screw bears on the centre of the shaft, so the load stays on the shaft itself and never on the aluminium case or the bearing carrier. Turn the screw in steadily and the assembly walks out; there is no hammering and no shock load through the bearing. That matters because the usual damage on these units is a scored case bore or a cracked carrier from someone prying the shaft out, and both of those turn a clutch job into a case replacement.

This is a specialty tool, not a general-purpose puller. If you are only doing one 0B5 clutch pack it still pays for itself the first time it saves a case.
