Gasket, seal and sealing-ring overhaul set for the Honda MAXA/BAXA four-speed in 1998-2002 Accord 2.3L and 1998 Odyssey.
This is the overhaul gasket, seal and sealing-ring set for the Honda MAXA/BAXA four-speed automatic, the transverse unit Honda ran behind the F-series four-cylinders in the late-90s Accord. It carries the T07800B kit reference and replaces T07802B, T078080B, T078081B, K07800B and D80004D, so if you have been cross-referencing those numbers on a parts counter this is the same coverage in one box.
Fitment is 1998-2002 Accord 2.0L F20B and 2.3L F23A, 1998 Odyssey 2.3L F23A, 1998-2001 Prelude 2.2L H22A with the four-speed automatic, 1998-1999 Acura CL 2.3L F23A, and the 1998 Oasis 2.3L F23A. The MDWA code shows up on some of these builds as well. Check the code stamped on the transmission case before you order - the V6 units (B7XA, M7ZA) use a different kit.
On the bench you will use this set the moment the case halves come apart: the main case gasket and side cover gasket, the pump and shaft lip seals, the axle seals, the clutch drum sealing rings, and the O-rings behind the solenoids and valve body. Those are the parts that are hardened, flattened or nicked on a unit with 150k on it, and reusing them is how a fresh rebuild comes back leaking or with a soft 2-3 shift. Lay the kit out against the old parts as you pull them so nothing gets left in the tray.
These Honda four-speeds typically come in for a burnt second or third clutch pack, torque converter lockup shudder, or a flare between gears. This kit covers the soft-parts side of that repair. If the frictions are burnt or the drum is scored, order the friction plates, steels and hard parts separately - this is the gasket and seal package, not a complete clutch set.
