BAXA Transmission Rebuild Kit with Frictions and Steels

This rebuild kit covers the Honda BAXA 4-speed automatic and its siblings MAXA and MDWA (CG5), cross-referenced to overhaul kit T07800B. It combines the overhaul kit (seals, gaskets and O-rings) with a friction kit and a steel plate kit, so the clutch packs and every seal get replaced in one job.

Listed fitment is the Honda Accord 2.3L and 3.0L from 1998 to 2002, the Odyssey 2.3L for 1998, and the Prelude 2.2L from 1997 to 2001. The 1998-2002 Accord automatic is one of the most common Honda rebuilds out there, so confirm the code on your case before ordering.

The classic BAXA failure is a worn 2nd or 3rd clutch that flares on the upshift, followed by a flashing D4 light and burnt fluid. On the bench, strip the mainshaft and countershaft clutch drums, replace every friction and steel, pre-soak the new frictions in Honda ATF, and set the clearance on each pack. Replace every seal in the overhaul kit, flush the cooler thoroughly (debris from the old clutches will kill a fresh rebuild), and refill with Honda ATF.
