Replaces the A and B clutch actuators in the Ford Focus and Fiesta DPS6 dual-clutch transmission to clear stuck-clutch codes, shudder, and lost gears.
This is a matched pair of clutch actuators (positions A and B) for the Ford DPS6 6DCT250 PowerShift six-speed dry dual-clutch automatic. It fits the 2012-2018 Ford Focus and the 2011-2019 Ford Fiesta built with the DPS6 transaxle, and replaces OE part numbers AE8Z-7C604-A, AE8Z7C604A, and AE8Z7C604. It is not for manual-transmission cars or the Focus ST/RS and Fiesta ST.
When an actuator wears, the DPS6 sets element-stuck codes such as P07A5 and P07A6 and the car starts shuddering on takeoff, banging into gear, dropping reverse, or falling into limp mode. Position A drives gears 1, 3, and 5; position B drives reverse, 2, 4, and 6. The stored code usually points to the failing side, but many techs replace both since they wear at a similar rate.
Each actuator bolts to the top of the transaxle case and plugs into an 8-pin connector, so the job is done on the vehicle without splitting the case. Turning the actuator spindle roughly 14 turns counterclockwise with a DPS6 clutch fork tool while the shaft is lubricated frees a sticking fork before the new unit goes on. Programming the actuator itself is not required, but a clutch or TCM adaptive relearn is often needed afterward to finish the repair.
