Re-springs the K1 and K2 adjusters on a Ford DPS6 dry dual-clutch assembly so a good used clutch pack can go back on the input shafts.
Reset fixture for the Ford DPS6 PowerShift six-speed dry dual-clutch assembly, DPTOOL part D546. The DPS6 clutch pack (Ford F1FZ-7B546-B and its supersessions) carries its own internal wear adjusters. The moment the clutch comes off the input shafts, the K1 and K2 adjuster springs trip and the assembly springs out to the position it wore itself into. In that state it will not go back on the shafts, and it will not set the correct clutch clearance if you force it. That is why so many DPS6 jobs turn into a new clutch assembly even when the friction material still had plenty of life left.
This kit re-springs the clutch back to its install position. The clutch assembly sits in the plate, and you press K2 first until its lock buckle catches, then press K1 until it latches. With both adjusters reset, the pack is back at the factory install height and can be reinstalled on the transmission and re-adapted with the scan tool the same as a new one. The set includes the press plate, spacers and lock blocks needed to reach both adjusters.
Where it earns its money: transmission-out work where the clutch itself is not the failure. Input shaft seal leaks that soak the dry clutch, clutch actuator or fork replacement, TCM housing work, or pulling the trans to do a rear main seal on the engine. Any of those means the clutch comes off, and without a reset tool it does not go back on. Applies to Ford DPS6 dry dual-clutch units in the 2011-2018 Focus and 2011-2019 Fiesta.
