FOXWELL ST201 EVAP Smoke Machine Leak Detector

The FOXWELL ST201 is a self-contained automotive smoke machine for finding leaks you cannot see. You clip it to the vehicle's 12V battery, connect the outlet hose to the system you are testing, and it fills the lines with a dense low-pressure smoke. Wherever the system is not sealed, the smoke rises out and shows you the exact spot. It covers intake and boost plumbing, exhaust and EGR, brake booster and vacuum lines, and the EVAP/fuel-vapor system behind a P0442 or P0455 small-leak code.

Everything is on board, so there is no shop air compressor to drag over. The built-in pump runs the smoke and also doubles as a pressure tester: the gauge reads out at roughly 0.8 to 1.2 bar (about 11.6 to 17.4 psi) so you can pressure-check a system and watch the needle for a drop as well as look for visible smoke. FOXWELL rates it for a long test cycle without the forced cooldown that makes cheaper units stall mid-job, and it sips fluid at around 3 ml per test.

This is the tool that turns a rough-idle vacuum leak or a stubborn EVAP code from an afternoon of guessing into a five-minute find. On a transmission bench it is just as useful for pressure-testing a cooler circuit or checking a vacuum modulator line before you condemn a part.
