KINGBOLEN Ediag Elite Bidirectional OBD2 Scan Tool

The KINGBOLEN Ediag Elite is a pocket-sized Bluetooth 5.2 dongle (model KBLJ05) that turns an Android or iOS phone into a full-system scan tool. It plugs into the OBD2 port and pairs to the free EDIAG app at up to 33 feet, so you can sit in the driver's seat or stand at the bench while the vehicle runs. Coverage is OBD2-equipped cars and light trucks from 1996 up across GM, Ford, Chrysler/FCA, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai and Kia, and it supports the CAN FD protocol and FCA AutoAuth so it still talks to late-model Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram security-gateway vehicles.

For transmission work the useful part is that it reads the TCM, not just the powertrain module. You get and clear transmission trouble codes, and stream live transmission data - fluid temperature, current gear state, input and output shaft speed - alongside engine and brake-system PIDs. Parameters can be combined into one graph so you can watch line pressure behavior or a slipping ratio in real time instead of guessing from a stored code. Sessions can be logged and replayed later, which is how you catch an intermittent flare or a converter clutch that only shudders under load.

Bidirectional control lets you command components instead of only reading them: actuate solenoids, clutches, relays, windows and doors from the phone to isolate a bad part from a bad circuit. The 15-plus service resets include Gear Box Relearn, which is the one that matters after a solenoid swap, valve body change or fluid service - the TCM re-learns its shift adapts instead of carrying old ones. Also included: oil reset, TPMS, BMS, SAS, EPB/bleeding, throttle learning, EGR learning, injector coding and headlight matching. Note that available special functions vary by make, model and year.

Software updates are free for life with no subscription. AutoVIN pulls the VIN automatically so you are not typing it in, and the tool writes a full-system diagnostic report you can save or send.
