About this product

The Lang Tools TU-16A is a two-gauge pressure test kit for checking automatic transmission line pressure and engine oil pressure with one setup. The 2-1/2 inch gauge reads 0-100 PSI (0-28 bar) for oil and low-side readings, and the larger 3-1/2 inch gauge reads 0-400 PSI (0-28 bar) for transmission line pressure under load.

The kit includes 21 color-coded SAE and metric fittings that thread into the pressure taps on domestic and import automatic transmissions and engine oil galleries, so one kit covers most cars, light trucks, and motorcycles. The quick-change fittings let you swap adapters without fighting the whole line each time.

Use it to confirm a slipping or harsh-shifting transmission is actually a hydraulic pressure problem before you drop the pan or condemn the pump. Tee the correct adapter into the line pressure port, run the vehicle through the gear range, and compare the reading against the factory pressure spec. On the engine side, the same gauges verify oil pump output and rule out a bad sending unit when the warning light stays on.
