Full-synthetic multi-vehicle ATF for transmissions calling for Dexron III or Mercon, plus torque converters and power steering. One 1-liter bottle, not for Dexron VI.
This is Motul's Multi ATF, a 100 percent synthetic automatic transmission fluid built to cover the older and import automatics that were factory-filled on a Dexron III or Mercon spec. If you are servicing a GM unit that called for Dexron III (TH350, TH400, 700R4, 4L60E, 4L80E) or a Ford that specified Mercon, this is a correct-spec top-off and refill fluid. It is a friction-modified fluid, so it holds consistent clutch and band friction as the fluid heats up, which is what keeps a converter from shuddering at lockup and keeps 2-3 and 3-4 shifts crisp instead of flaring.
Being fully synthetic, it resists oxidation and holds its viscosity across a wide temperature range, so it flows on a cold start and does not thin out and drop line pressure when the pan gets hot in stop-and-go or towing. That temperature stability is where a synthetic ATF earns its keep over a conventional fluid in a unit that runs hot. Motul also lists it for torque converters, power steering systems, boat reverse gears, and hydrostatic drives that specify a Dexron (except Dexron VI) or Mercon fluid, so one bottle covers more than just the transmission on the bench.
Read the fitment before you pour: this is a Dexron III / Mercon fluid and is not a Dexron VI, Mercon LV, Mercon V, or ATF+4 replacement, and it is not a CVT or DCT fluid. If your unit's dipstick or service tag calls for one of those, use the matching spec instead. Sold as a single 1-liter (33.8 oz) bottle, part number MTL105784.
