NV3500 Pre-Bled Clutch Master and Slave Cylinder Kit

Pre-bled hydraulic clutch actuation assembly for 2002-2008 Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 manual-transmission trucks - the NV3500 five-speed behind the 3.7L and 4.7L, and the NV4500 behind the 5.7L Hemi. Master cylinder, slave cylinder, hydraulic line and reservoir come as one sealed unit, filled and bled at the factory. ClutchMax part number CPPS0523; it interchanges with OE numbers 52110496AA, 52110496AB, 52110496AD and 5130082100, and with PS0523, CRS052 and PF9073.

These trucks lose clutch hydraulics in a predictable way. The master cylinder seal starts bypassing and the pedal sinks slowly to the floor, or the slave leaks at the bell housing and you find fluid running down the transmission case. Symptom-wise you get a soft or sinking pedal, a clutch that will not fully release, grinding going into first or reverse, and eventually no pedal at all. Chrysler does not sell these halves separately - the system is a sealed pre-filled unit, so the whole assembly gets replaced.

On the bench this is a straightforward job with the transmission out. Unbolt the old master from the firewall and unclip the pushrod from the clutch pedal, pull the slave off the bell housing studs, and route the new line the same way the factory line ran so it stays clear of the exhaust and the frame rail. Do not squeeze the slave pushrod or crack any fitting during installation - the assembly is pre-bled and pulling air into it means you are bleeding a system that was not designed to be bled on the vehicle. Leave the shipping strap on the slave until the slave is seated, then cut it. Torque the master nuts to the factory spec and check pedal feel before the driveshaft goes back in.
