Holds battery voltage steady at up to 100 amps while you reflash a TCM or PCM, so a sagging charge never corrupts the programming session.
A bench-style 100 amp power supply built for the one job where a plain battery charger will bite you: module reprogramming. When you flash a TCM after a valve body swap, install a reman module on a 6L80 or 10R80, or push an updated calibration to fix a shift-quality TSB, the scan tool holds the ignition on and the module writes for ten to forty minutes. Blowers, fuel pump priming and the instrument cluster pull the battery down the whole time, and if voltage drops mid-write you can end up with a bricked module and a warranty argument.
This unit supplies up to 100 amps of clean, regulated DC with adjustable output so you set it where the OEM procedure asks, typically in the 13.5 to 14.5 volt range. Output is rated at 14.6 volts nominal. Unlike a smart charger, it does not cycle through charge stages or drop to float partway through a flash, which is the behavior that causes most failed programming events.
It also covers the rest of the long key-on work in a transmission shop: bidirectional solenoid testing where you are cycling shift solenoids repeatedly, adaptive relearn procedures done on the lift, and any extended scan tool session where the vehicle is awake but the engine is not running. Comes with heavy 15 foot 4 AWG leads and clamps so you can reach from the bench to the battery without a jumper pack in the middle.
