RE5R05A Transmission Solenoid Kit for Nissan Titan

The RE5R05A behind the 5.6L VK56 develops its own set of habits as it ages: a delayed or flared 1-2, harsh 4-5, torque converter clutch that will not hold lockup, and a scan tool full of shift solenoid and line pressure codes. Most of the time the hydraulics are still fine and it is the solenoid pack on the valve body that has drifted out of spec from heat and mileage. This kit replaces that pack so you are not chasing one solenoid at a time.

Direct replacement for OE part numbers 63431A-U and 31941-1FX02 (also listed as 319411FX02). Fitment is 2004-2010 Nissan Titan with the V8 5.6L and the RE5R05A five-speed automatic. The same RE5R05A family is used in the Armada, Pathfinder, Xterra, Frontier and Infiniti QX56 of that era, so cross-check your existing solenoid part number against the two listed above before ordering rather than going by vehicle alone.

On the bench it is a valve body job. Drop the pan, pull the filter, unplug the internal harness, and unbolt the valve body. The solenoids come off the valve body face with their retaining clips and brackets. Keep the bolts organized by length, they are not all the same. Set the new solenoids with clean ATF on the O-rings, reseat the harness connector fully until it clicks, and torque the valve body bolts evenly in a cross pattern. Clear codes and relearn before you road test, otherwise the TCM will keep commanding the adaptive pressures it learned from the worn solenoids.

If the fluid came out dark and smells burnt, replace the filter and pan gasket while you are in there. Solenoids fail early in a transmission that has been running cooked fluid, and a new pack in dirty ATF will not last. Ships from the USA.
