On a transmission job this is the tool that tells you whether to pull the unit or not. Drop the probe through the inspection cover to read the flexplate and torque converter bolts for cracks or missing hardware. Look down a valve body bore for a scored or stuck valve before you order a Sonnax kit. Check the bellhousing for the source of a fluid leak so you are not chasing a rear main that turned out to be a front pump seal. Same probe goes into a cylinder to check for scoring on a customer's engine before you quote the trans work.
The camera head is 8.5mm with eight adjustable LEDs on the tip, which is what actually makes the picture usable inside a dark aluminum case. The probe and cable are IP67 rated, so ATF, coolant, and parts washer solvent do not kill it. It records 1080p stills and video to the included 32GB card, which is how you document a failed part for a customer or a warranty claim instead of arguing about it. Ships with the carrying case.
