The ThinkScan Plus S7 is a 7-system diagnostic scanner that reads and clears trouble codes on the powertrain and the modules around it: Engine (ECM), Transmission (TCM), ABS, SRS airbag, Body Control (BCM), Air Conditioning, and the Instrument Cluster. For transmission work it pulls TCM fault codes, shows live sensor data, and lets you clear codes after a repair so the light stays off.
On the bench or in the bay you can watch up to 120 live data streams at once, which is what you want when you are chasing an intermittent shift complaint or a slipping condition. Stream transmission fluid temperature, gear commanded versus gear attained, solenoid and TCC duty, and input/output shaft speeds to confirm whether the problem is electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical before you pull the pan.
It runs Android 6.0 on a 5-inch touchscreen with a quad-core 1.3GHz processor and 32GB storage that expands to 256GB, so you can download software for all 94 supported car brands plus wiring diagrams and repair videos. AutoVIN identifies the vehicle for you, built-in DTC lookup and Google search explain the codes, and FCA AutoAuth is included for late-model Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram gateway access.
Updates are delivered over WiFi at no extra cost for the life of the unit. Five special reset services are optional add-ons if you need them later. Ships from the USA.
