Transgo shift kit for 2019-up Mopar 68RFE units: accumulator pistons, springs, valve and plate aimed at stopping underdrive clutch burnout.
This is the Transgo SK68RFE-19UP shift kit, Transgo part number TGOSK68RFE-19UP, built for the later Mopar 68RFE that sits behind the 6.7L Cummins in 2019-and-later Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. The -19UP suffix matters: Transgo splits its RFE kits by build year, so confirm your transmission is a 2019-up unit before ordering rather than using it on an earlier 68RFE.
The kit goes into the valve body and accumulator circuit. Inside the box are replacement accumulator pistons and springs, a valve, an accumulator plate, a solenoid damper and a snap ring, along with the small check balls, springs and seals shown in the photo. Transgo's stated goal for this kit is preventing underdrive clutch failure, which is one of the common ways a 68RFE gives up under towing load: the UD clutch slips, overheats and burns, and the truck starts flaring or losing drive in the lower gears.
This is a bench job. Drop the pan, pull the valve body and accumulators, and follow the Transgo instruction sheet step by step, since the kit replaces specific springs and pistons in specific bores and changes feed through the plate. Keep the old parts laid out in order as you go so you can compare each piece before it goes back in. If the underdrive clutch has already burned, a shift kit will not bring it back; the clutches have to be replaced, and this kit goes in during that rebuild so the new pack is not cooked the same way.
After installation, run a quick learn or adaptive reset with a scan tool so the TCM is not shifting on the old values, then check fluid level hot with Mopar ATF+4.
