U340E Transmission Master Rebuild Kit for Toyota Echo and Yaris

Master overhaul kit for the Toyota U340E and U341E four-speed front-wheel-drive transaxles. These small units sit behind the 1.5L in the 2000-2005 Echo and 2006-2011 Yaris and the 1.8L in the Corolla. OE references include UT14400A, 35330-0W020, 35330-20020 and 35330-0W021.

The common U340E complaints are a flare on the 2-3 or 3-4 upshift, a delayed reverse engagement, and burnt fluid from a worn clutch pack. Once the pan shows friction debris a filter and fluid service will not fix it; the unit needs a full soft-parts rebuild, which is what this kit is built for.

Bench notes: disassemble and clean the case, check the drums and planetary for heat damage, pre-soak the new frictions in fresh Toyota WS fluid, and set clutch pack clearances to spec during assembly.
