Seating a bearing race or a metal-clad seal by tapping around the edge with a punch is how you end up with a cocked race, a scored bore, or a seal that leaks the day you fill the transmission. The right way is to press it in flat with a driver that matches the outside diameter, and that is exactly what this kit is for. It gives you fifty hardened discs stepped in 1mm increments from 18mm all the way to 65mm, plus a 74mm disc, so you can find one that sits just inside the bore lip and drives the part straight down.

The discs thread onto a 12mm shaft that runs through a long 180mm handle, so you strike the end of the handle and the force lands dead-center on the part instead of off to one side. That single-axis push is what keeps a race or seal square as it goes in.
