Bench fixture that clamps a Ford C4, C5, C6, AOD or Chrysler 904/998/999 case to an engine stand and swivels it 360 degrees for teardown and reassembly.
Rebuilding an automatic on the floor or wrestling it across the bench is how you drop parts, cross-thread a case bolt, or crack a pump. This is the Ford and Chrysler counterpart to the GM J-8763-B fixture: a heavy holding fixture with its own base that bolts to a standard engine stand and locks the transmission case in place so you can work it with both hands. The head swings a full 360 degrees and rotates, so you can spin the unit nose-up to pull the pump, roll it over to drop the valve body, and stand it back up to stack clutch packs without the case ever moving on you.
It covers the common Ford rear-drive and transaxle cases: C4, C5, C6, AOD, AOD-E, AOD-EW (4R70W), AXOD, and AXOD-E (AX4S/AX4N). On the Chrysler side it fits the 904 (30RH), 998 (31RR), and 999 (32RH) family. It is the equivalent of the OTC 7020 and the Ford Motorcraft 307-003 (T57L-500-B) shop tool, so if a factory service procedure calls for that fixture number, this does the same job. Built from alloy steel, not cast pot metal, so it holds a loaded case without flexing.
Setup is straightforward: mount the base to your engine stand's mounting plate, bolt the fixture arms to the transmission using the case's own bellhousing or pump bolt holes, and set the swivel lock where you want it. From there the case is fixed and rotatable, which is what makes air-checking clutch circuits, measuring end play, and setting the pump-to-case clearance repeatable instead of a two-person fight. Note that it holds the transmission; it does not include the engine stand itself. Ships from the USA.
