Complete friction and steel plate set for the Aisin UA80E eight-speed in 2016-up Highlander, Sienna, Camry V6, Avalon and Lexus ES 350.
This is the friction and steel plate set for the Aisin-built UA80E and UA80F eight-speed automatic, the transmission Toyota put behind the 2GR-FKS V6 and the 2.5L four starting in 2016. The kit ships as the complete clutch plate package for an overhaul - frictions, matching steels, and the gaskets, seals and O-rings that have to be replaced when the unit is apart. Manufacturer part number ING-GN03966, sold against OE reference UA80, UA80E and UA80F.
Fitment is 2016-up Toyota Highlander, 2016-up Sienna, 2016-up Camry in both the V6 and the 2.5L four, 2016-up Avalon V6, and 2016-up Lexus ES 350. The UA80 is a transverse eight-speed, so the same plate stack carries across the whole front-drive family - verify the transmission tag on the case rather than going by model year alone, because the 2016 and 2017 build years overlap with the outgoing U760E six-speed in some trims.
You pull this set when a UA80 comes across the bench with slipping under load, a shudder or flare on the upshift, or burnt fluid and clutch material in the pan. The frictions go in dry-measured and then soaked in fresh WS fluid for at least fifteen minutes before assembly. Stack each pack in the factory friction/steel order, set clutch clearance with the selective plate and a dial indicator before the drum goes back in the case, and check that every retaining snap ring is fully seated in its groove. Do not reuse the old steels with new frictions - the glazed surface is what cooks a fresh plate pack inside a few thousand miles.
The UA80 is a sealed, no-dipstick unit. Refill through the fill plug with Toyota WS fluid at the correct fluid temperature window and check the overflow at temperature, or the rebuild will come back with the same shudder complaint.
