The XTOOL D5S is a full-system diagnostic scanner that covers the four systems a driveline diagnosis actually touches: transmission, engine, ABS, and SRS. It reads and clears trouble codes, shows live data (up to four PID graphs at once), pulls ECU/TCM information, and reads freeze-frame data, so you can chase a rough shift, a slipping gear, or a limp-mode complaint down to the solenoid or pressure fault instead of guessing.

Where it earns its keep over a $50 code reader is the 16 reset/service functions. Gearbox Match (transmission adaption) re-teaches the TCM after you replace solenoids or service the valve body. Crank Sensor Relearn (CKP) clears the P0315/P0339-type variation-not-learned codes that hang around after a starter or engine job. You also get throttle relearn, ABS bleeding, injector coding, BMS battery registration, SAS calibration, TPMS, EPB release, and oil-service reset. It reads real-time transmission fluid temperature, shaft speed, and line pressure so you can confirm a fix on the bench or in the driveway.
