09G Transmission Solenoid Kit with Filter and Pan Gasket

Complete valve body solenoid service kit for the 09G six-speed automatic, also badged TF-60SN by Aisin and AQ250 in some VW literature. The box holds eight solenoids, a transmission filter and an eight-bolt pan gasket, which is everything that comes out while the pan is already down. OE references are 09G325039A for the solenoid set, 09G325429 for the filter and 09G321370 for the pan gasket.

The solenoid count breaks down as six large-can linear solenoids and two on-off shift solenoids. The linear units are N90 (K3 clutch), N91 (torque converter clutch apply), N92 (K1 clutch), N93 (EPC line pressure), N282 (K2 clutch) and N283 (B1 brake). N88 and N89 are the two on-off shift solenoids. Linear solenoids are the usual root cause on a high-mileage 09G: they drift out of calibration and the trans comes in with a harsh or flared 2-3, delayed engagement into Drive, converter clutch shudder at light throttle, or stored codes in the P0751 / P0756 / P2714 / P2715 / P2716 family.

Fitment is confirmed for the large-can 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) valve body: VW Jetta 2.5L 2006-2007 including late 2005 build, VW Beetle 1.8T and 2.0L 2005-2006, VW Beetle 2.5L 2006-2007, VW Passat 2.0T front-wheel drive 2006-2007, Audi A3 2.0T front-wheel drive 2006-2007, and Audi TT 1.8T front-wheel drive Tiptronic 2005-2006. VW changed solenoid can size and filter design during 2008, so 2008-2010 Jetta, SportWagen, Beetle and Passat, 2006-2009 Rabbit and Golf, 2008-2013 A3 and 2009 CC need to be measured before you order.

Verifying takes about two minutes on the bench. Pull the pan and caliper one linear solenoid can: 1.0 inch (25.4 mm) is this kit, 0.75 inch (19 mm) is the small-can version and will not fit. Then look at the old filter - this kit uses the flat, flush intake for the shallow pan. If your filter has a raised oval pipe (09G325429A or B) or a long thin nose (09G325429D or E), it will not seal. The B-pillar sticker helps too: built on or before 06/30/2008 is the large solenoid. Solenoid replacement needs no programming, but run a scan tool adaptation reset afterward and refill with roughly 3.5 to 4 quarts of G 055 025 spec ATF for a pan service.
