10L Heated Ultrasonic Parts Cleaner for Valve Bodies

A 10 liter (2.6 gallon) benchtop ultrasonic tank sized for transmission work. The tank and the parts basket are both 304 stainless, the transducers put out 240 watts, and a separate 300 watt heater brings the bath up to temperature so the solution actually cavitates instead of just sloshing. The digital panel sets run time up to 30 minutes and bath temperature anywhere from 68 to 176 degrees F (20 to 80 C). Sold as CREWORKS model TRTV1847.

On the bench the routine is simple. Fill the tank with water and your cleaning concentrate, set the heater to roughly 140 to 160 degrees F and let it come up, then load the basket with valve body castings, separator plates, check balls, solenoids, filter screens, pump halves and small hard parts. Run a 10 to 20 minute cycle, pull the basket, rinse, and blow every passage dry with air before assembly. Never set parts directly on the tank floor - the basket keeps them off the transducer plate. A built-in drain valve on the side dumps the dirty bath without wrestling the whole cabinet to a sink, and the inset handles and non-skid feet make it manageable on a crowded bench.

This is the step hand cleaning cannot do. A valve body is full of cross-drilled bores and blind passages you cannot get a brush into, and after a burnt failure those passages are lined with varnish and clutch material. Leave that debris in place and you get a sticking regulator or shift valve, delayed engagement, flare on a shift, or a comeback three weeks after the rebuild. Cavitation reaches into the bores and lifts the film off the walls. Same story with solenoids and screens - a solenoid that reads fine on a meter can still be slow because the screen in front of it is loaded.

Two fuses protect the unit against surges, and the 304 stainless tank holds up to hot detergent baths over the long haul. Runs on standard 110 volt shop power.
