1200W Induction Heater Kit for Seized Transmission Bolts

A 1200W handheld induction heater that puts heat into the fastener and almost nothing else. Slip the coil over the bolt head or nut, hold the trigger, and the electromagnetic field brings the steel up to red in roughly 15 seconds. Rust scale and thread locker let go, and the bolt backs out with a normal ratchet instead of snapping off flush with the case.

This is the tool for the jobs where an oxy-acetylene torch is the wrong answer. Bellhousing bolts with ATF running down the back of the block. Crossmember and transmission mount bolts sitting a few inches from fuel and brake lines. Rusted pan bolts and cooler line brackets on a truck that has seen twenty winters of road salt. No open flame, no bottles to drag under the lift, no scorched wiring loom or melted plastic connector.

Runs on standard 110V AC at 1200W, so a normal shop circuit handles it. Three fixed coils are included: 0.59 in (15 mm), 0.79 in (20 mm) and 1.18 in (30 mm) inside diameter, which covers the bolt heads and nuts you meet on a transmission, transfer case and driveline. The gun weighs 3.63 lb and measures 17.32 x 4.33 x 6.3 in, light enough to hold overhead while you work a bolt loose.

It earns its keep on the bench too. Any small steel part that fits inside a coil can be brought up quickly to break an interference fit, so a stuck bushing or a small race expands and releases instead of getting beaten out.
