A rebuild kit for the Ford 6F35 six-speed front-wheel-drive transaxle, reference 9L8Z-7A098-D. It pairs the overhaul gasket and seal set with 15 friction plates, 15 steel plates, a 12-piece bushing set, piston packs and a filter.
Listed fitment: 2013-2017 Ford Fusion, Escape and Explorer, and the Lincoln MKZ and MKC, along with Mazda models that share the 6F35 transaxle.
The 6F35 tends to show up with a harsh 1-2 or 3-4 shift, a flare between gears, or a slip that gets worse once the fluid is hot. Burned 3-5-R and 2-6 clutches are the usual finding. The bushings are worth using: a worn bushing bleeds off clutch apply oil and will burn a fresh pack quickly. Replace the seals and bushings as a set, check pack clearances on assembly, fill with Mercon LV, and run the adaptive relearn with a scan tool.
