A340E Transmission Master Rebuild Kit with Frictions and Steels

This is a master rebuild kit for the Toyota/Aisin A340 family: A340E, A340F, A340H, A341E and A343F. It includes the overhaul gasket and seal kit, a full set of friction plates and a full set of steel plates, which covers the soft parts and clutch packs you replace on a standard overhaul.

Applications include 1989-2004 4Runner, 1995-2012 Tacoma 2.7L, 3.0L and 3.4L, 1999-2004 Tundra, 2001-2004 Sequoia 4.7L, 1993-1998 T100, 1985-1995 Toyota Pickup, 1995-2002 Land Cruiser, 1986-1998 Supra, 1987-1992 Cressida and 1993-1997 Previa. The A340 is a durable unit, but high mileage, towing and overheated fluid wear the clutch packs. Signs it needs an overhaul: slipping on the 2-3 or 3-4 shift, flare under load, delayed engagement, burned-smelling fluid, or friction material in the pan. Replacing only the seals will not restore a unit with glazed or worn frictions, which is why this kit includes the plates.

On the bench: soak new frictions in clean ATF before assembly, check each clutch pack clearance with a feeler gauge against spec and adjust with selective plates as needed, replace all sealing rings, and air check each circuit before installing the valve body.
