Frictions, steels, seals and gaskets to overhaul a Toyota/Lexus A341E (30-41LE) four-speed behind the 1UZ, 2JZ and 3UZ.
The A341E is the four-speed rear-drive automatic Toyota and Lexus bolted behind the 1UZ-FE, 2JZ-GE and 3UZ-FE V8 and inline-six engines. It is the heavier-duty relative of the A340E, and it shows up under the SC400, SC300, LS400, GS400, GS300, LX470 and the Supra. Toyota's own designation for the family is 30-41LE. Thirty years on, most of these units are failing for the same reasons: the direct and forward clutch frictions cook, the accumulator pistons and case bores wear, and the rubber lip seals and O-rings in the pump and drums go hard and stop holding line pressure. That is a rebuild, not a repair, and this kit is the parts side of it.
Included is the full overhaul content for a bench rebuild: friction plates and steel plates for the clutch packs, the complete rubber kit (lip seals, O-rings, sealing rings), pan and pump gaskets, and the paper and metal-clad seals that go in during reassembly. The frictions are cut for the stock pack counts and the steels are ground flat so pack clearance measures where it should when you stack it. If your unit needs bushings, a torque converter, or hard parts like a drum or a pump body, those are separate - this covers the wear items that get replaced on every teardown.
On the bench: tear the unit down, wash and inspect the drums and pistons, then check the pack clearances dry as you stack the new frictions and steels so you know where each pack sits before the snap ring goes in. Soak the new frictions in ATF for at least thirty minutes before assembly - dry frictions glaze on the first apply. Replace every lip seal and O-ring in the kit even if the old one looks fine; a hardened seal that passes a visual is what puts the unit back on your bench in six months. Air-check each drum before the case goes back together.
Fits A341E and 30-41LE units. Common applications: Lexus SC400 and SC300, LS400, GS400 and GS300, LX470, and Toyota Supra. Confirm your transmission tag before ordering - the A340E and A341E are similar externally but the clutch pack content differs.
