A760E Transmission Master Rebuild Kit Lexus IS350

Master rebuild kit for the Toyota/Aisin A760E and A761E six-speed rear-wheel-drive automatic. It covers Lexus IS250, IS350 and GS350 from 2006 through 2009 and the Toyota Crown from 2005 up. The A760E is the two-wheel-drive version and the A761E is the all-wheel-drive version with the transfer section on the back of the case - the internals this kit addresses are shared between them, so one kit covers both.

The kit is a master set, not a seal-only overhaul: it includes the complete gasket and rubber seal kit, the friction (clutch) plate pack, and the steel plate kit. Manufacturer part number BL-GN03925. Kit weight is 11 pounds and it ships in a 15.7 x 15.7 x 3.9 inch box. Filter, bushings, solenoids and hard parts are not part of this kit - order those separately if the teardown shows they are needed.

What usually puts one of these on the bench is a slipping or flaring 2-3 or 4-5 shift, a shudder on light throttle from the torque converter clutch apply, or a delayed engagement into reverse after the car sits. By the time you see burnt fluid and dark friction material in the pan, the clutch packs are glazed and the lip seals have gone hard - that is exactly the combination this kit replaces. Pull the pan and check the fluid before ordering: brown and burnt means you need the frictions and steels, while clean fluid with a leak usually means you only need seals.

On the bench, work one drum at a time. Set clutch pack clearance with the steels supplied in the kit and measure it before the drum goes back in - do not assume the new frictions land in spec, since plate thickness varies between suppliers. Soak the new frictions in ATF before assembly, air-check every circuit through the case before the valve body goes on, and confirm total end play against the factory spec after the pump is torqued down.
