Nine-piece shift, lock-up and linear pressure control solenoid set for the Aisin A760E six-speed valve body in Toyota and Lexus trucks.
This is the complete nine-piece solenoid set for the Aisin A760E six-speed automatic, the rear-drive unit Toyota and Lexus ran behind the 4.0L V6 and the 4.6L and 5.7L V8. The kit covers the on/off shift solenoids, the lock-up solenoid and the linear pressure control solenoids that bolt to the valve body, so you replace the entire electrical side of the shift control in one teardown instead of chasing a single circuit and going back in a month later.
Manufacturer part references are A760, A760E, A761E, A960E, AB60E and AB60F, covering 2004-2017 Toyota and Lexus applications including the Tacoma, Tundra, Sequoia and 4Runner on the truck side and the IS250, GS350 and LX570 on the Lexus side. Check the casting on your valve body before ordering: the A760 family shares the solenoid pattern with the AB60 six-speed used behind the 5.7L, which is why the same set carries both numbers.
Solenoid failure is what puts most of these units on a lift, and the symptoms are consistent. A shorted or open linear pressure control solenoid takes away line pressure control and gives you a harsh 1-2 engagement or a flare on the 2-3. A stuck shift solenoid spool shows up as a gear the transmission will not leave, a delayed engagement into drive, or a straight drop into limp with a P0748, P0778 or P0768 stored. The lock-up solenoid failing gives you a converter shudder at light throttle around 45 mph that no fluid change will cure.
On the bench: drop the pan, pull the filter, unplug each solenoid at the internal harness and note the position before you remove anything - the shift and pressure control solenoids are not interchangeable and swapping two of them will give you a shift pattern that makes no sense. Torque the retaining bolts light, around 7 to 9 ft-lb, seat each new solenoid squarely so the O-ring does not roll, and reset the TCM adaptives after refill so the unit relearns line pressure against the new solenoids. These are professionally remanufactured units, bench tested for coil resistance and spool travel, so expect clean function with some cosmetic wear on the bodies.
