ATP master overhaul kit of frictions, steels, bands, gaskets, seals and O-rings for the Chrysler A727 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic, 1971-1987.
This is the ATP TMS-14 master repair kit for the Chrysler A727 TorqueFlite, the three-speed rear-wheel-drive automatic that sat behind big-block and small-block Mopar V8s from 1971 through 1987. If you are rebuilding a 727 out of a Dodge, Plymouth or Chrysler pickup, van, muscle car or motorhome, this kit carries the wear parts that go back in on every overhaul.
In the box: high-energy clutch frictions, precision-ground steel plates, the front (kickdown) and rear band linings, and a full paper and rubber set - pan gasket, case and pump gaskets, lip seals, sealing rings and the O-rings. The frictions are cut from a premium material for smooth engagement and shudder-free apply, and the steels are held to spec so the clutch packs stack and clear correctly. Everything is vacuum-packed to boards so nothing arrives bent or contaminated.
This is a soft-parts master kit. It does not include the pump, drums, planetaries, sprags or the steel band struts - reuse your hard parts after inspection. Before you order, confirm your unit is a 727 (A727 / 32RH family) and not the smaller 904; the two do not share clutch packs or bands.
Standard bench practice: soak the new frictions in ATF before assembly, set the clutch clearances, and replace the band linings while the case is apart so the rebuild goes back together as a complete unit.
