BorgWarner 34068KIT 68RFE Friction Clutch Module Kit

This is the BorgWarner 34068KIT friction clutch module for the Chrysler 68RFE six-speed automatic, the heavy-duty box behind the 6.7L Cummins in Dodge and Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks. It is the complete set of frictions for every clutch pack in the unit, so you refresh the whole clutch content in one part number instead of ordering pack by pack. BorgWarner is the OE-level friction supplier, so the plate material and count match what the transmission was built with.

The kit covers all nine clutch groups: 2nd (3), 4th (3), underdrive external (5) and internal (5), overdrive external (6) and internal (6), underdrive reverse (2), and low-reverse external (7) and internal (7). Fitment is 2007-2024 68RFE applications, which is the 6.7L Cummins Ram 2500 and 3500 across that range. The 68RFE saw running changes, so confirm your clutch counts against the drums as you tear down.

68RFE units come apart for burnt underdrive and overdrive clutches, slipping or flaring shifts, and the classic dead-pedal and no-move complaints that show up after towing on a tired clutch pack. On the bench, air-check each drum, soak the new frictions in ATF before assembly, and set every pack to its clearance spec as you stack it. Renew the bonded pistons, seals and filter at the same time and refill with Mopar ATF+4 on a level fill.
