Quiet Oil-Free Air Compressor 4.7 Gallon CAT-4710W

A 4.7-gallon oil-free compressor built around the noise problem. It runs at 75 dBA, which is conversation-level, so you can pop bell housing bolts loose with an air ratchet at the bench without everyone in the shop wearing muffs. The dual-piston pump is oil-free, so there is no crankcase to drain and no oil mist carried downstream into your air line and onto parts you just cleaned.

Output is 3.00 CFM at 40 PSI and 2.20 CFM at 90 PSI, with 135 PSI max tank pressure. That is sized for intermittent bench work: air ratchets, blow guns, seal and bushing driver work with an air hammer, drying valve bodies and separator plates after a solvent wash, and running a small die grinder for short bursts. It is not sized to feed a 1/2-inch impact gun continuously or a sandblast cabinet - those want 6+ CFM at 90 PSI and a much bigger tank.

The 1.0 HP motor draws only 7.5 amps on 110V/60Hz, so it will start on an ordinary 15-amp garage circuit without tripping a breaker or dimming lights, and it fills the tank from empty in about 78 seconds. Thermal overload protection is built in. The whole unit weighs 35 pounds and rolls on wheels with a carry handle, so it moves from the bench to the lift and back without help.
