Master overhaul kit for the Jeep T90 three-speed manual, with the bearings, thrust washers and small parts you replace on a full teardown.
This is the Crown Automotive T90-MASKIT master overhaul kit for the Warner T90 three-speed manual transmission, the box Willys and Jeep ran behind the flathead and F-head fours and the 225 V6 from the mid-1940s through the early 1970s. It covers the T90 in CJ-2A, CJ-3A, CJ-3B, CJ-5 and CJ-6 applications. Manufacturer part number is T90-MASKIT and it carries Crown's 12 month / 12,000 mile warranty.
A T90 rebuild is a bearing-and-washer job more than a friction job. The mainshaft and countershaft bearings get noisy, the cluster gear thrust washers wear down and let the countershaft walk, and the endplay opens up until the box whines in third and pops out of second on decel. This kit bundles the bearings, thrust washers, seals and small hardware you would otherwise chase down one part number at a time, so the case only comes apart once.
On the bench: pull the top cover and shift rails, drive the countershaft out the rear and drop the cluster in the bottom of the case, then pull the mainshaft assembly out the top. Replace the bearings, set the cluster gear endplay with the new thrust washers before you commit the countershaft, and check the blocking ring to gear clearance while everything is out. Reviewers have noted the blocking ring dogs run on the thin side of stock and one thrust washer bore may need a light file to fit, so mock the stack up dry before final assembly rather than driving parts home cold.
Ships from the USA. Fits the T90 only. It does not cover the T14, T15, T18 or T176.
