D7UF1 7-Speed DCT Clutch Actuator Remover Installer Tool

This is the two-piece service tool for pulling and reinstalling the clutch actuator on Hyundai and Kia 7-speed dual-clutch transmissions, D7UF1 and D7GF1. It cross-references factory special tool H09430-A5100 (also written 09430-A5100) and is sold under manufacturer part number P01517. Applications include the Gamma 1.6 GDi and 1.6 T-GDi gasoline engines and the U2 1.6 and 1.7 TCi diesels backed by the 7DCT.

The clutch actuator bolts to the side of the DCT case and works the release fork through a lever, so it sits under spring preload the whole time it is installed. Prying it off or hauling on it by hand is how release forks get bent and actuator housings get cracked. The tool bodies bolt to the case and to the actuator, and the screw backs the actuator straight off its preload along the correct axis. Reverse it on the way in: run the new actuator down until the fork is compressed and the mounting bolts thread in by hand, with no side load on the housing.

The complaint that puts you here is usually a 7DCT that shudders pulling away from a stop, bangs the 1-2, will not fully release a clutch, or sets clutch actuator position faults. Those cars often need the actuator motor and, depending on what you find, the release fork with it. Doing the job without this tool tends to bend the fork on the way out, which puts the car right back on the lift for a repeat failure.

Bodies are high-strength steel with a heat-treated surface, sized for shop use rather than a one-time job. The set ships at 4.2 lb in an 11.81 x 9.45 x 2.55 in box.
