Derale 14210 Transmission Cooling Pan Dodge 47RE 48RE 46RE

The Derale 14210 is a deep cooling pan for the Chrysler/Dodge A518 (46RH, 46RE) and A618 (47RH, 47RE, 48RE) automatics, the transmissions found behind the 5.9L Cummins and the big-block gas trucks in Ram 2500 and 3500 pickups. It replaces the shallow factory pan, adds a few extra quarts of ATF, and forms heat-dissipating tubes into the bottom of the pan so the fluid sheds temperature as it circulates.

Heat is what kills these transmissions. On long grades, while towing, or with a tuned truck, stock fluid temperature climbs fast and cooks the clutches and seals. The extra capacity gives the system more thermal mass, and the cooling tubes act like a built-in heat sink, which together keep ATF temps down without adding a separate cooler. It is one of the cheapest upgrades you can make to a 47RE or 48RE.

The pan is heavy-gauge stamped steel finished in a two-stage black zinc coating so it resists rust and road salt. It comes complete with a neoprene gasket, a strong magnetic drain plug with a reusable rubber/steel washer, and a 1/8 inch NPT bung in the side of the pan for a temperature sender, so you can monitor fluid temp directly. For most street and tow use no filter spacer is needed; the Derale 14010 filter extender is available separately if you run steep off-road angles.
