Dial Indicator & Magnetic Base Set 0-1in, Endplay/Runout

This is the dial indicator setup a transmission rebuilder actually reaches for on the bench. You get a 0-1 inch travel indicator graduated in 0.001 inch, a jeweled-movement gauge, mounted to a heavy magnetic base with a 250mm flexible gooseneck arm rated at 176 lbs (80kg) of holding force. Clamp it to any ferrous surface, snake the arm into position, and read float or runout without the gauge drifting on you.

On an automatic build it sets input and output shaft endplay when you shim the pump, measures clutch drum and hub runout, and checks converter pilot and pump gear clearance. On a manual box it reads mainshaft and countershaft endplay and bearing preload. It also indexes bellhousing bore concentricity and face runout before you bolt a transmission to the block, and it will read brake rotor and axle flange runout when you need it to. The link-style flex arm is faster to set than the usual stack of screw-together rods and holds position once the collar is tensioned and the base lever is cinched down.

Kit includes the 0-1 inch dial indicator, the magnetic base with flexible arm, mounting hardware, a calibration certificate and a molded carrying case. Resolution is 0.001 inch, range 0-1 inch, and the frame is CNC-machined alloy with hardened steel contact points.
