Ford Super Duty 4WD Front Wheel Hub Seal Kit 600-135

This is the Dorman 600-135 front wheel hub seal kit for 2008-2012 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 Super Duty trucks with 4WD. One kit services one wheel, so order two if you are doing both sides of the front axle.

Contents: the axle seal and the hub seal, 2 locking hub O-rings, 1 locking hub gasket, 3 locking hub screws, 4 hub nuts, a hub O-ring, a threaded valve fitting and a snap ring. Dorman lists it against Ford OE numbers 5C3Z-1012-AA, 5C3Z-1K106-AB, 5C3Z-3254-AA, 5C3Z-3K050-AA, 5C3Z-4A322-AA, 9L8Z-4022-A and AC3Z-1S175-A.

Why it matters: on these trucks the front hubs lock with vacuum, and the seals are what hold that vacuum and keep water out. A torn seal or a flattened hub O-ring lets the locking hub leak down, so the front end drops out of 4WD or grinds on engagement, and water gets into the bearing. If you are already pulling a hub for a bearing, a unit bearing or a leaking axle seal, replace every seal and O-ring while it is apart. Reusing the old ones is how the job ends up coming back.

On the bench: remove the locking hub and hub nuts, pull the hub and spindle hardware, and clean the knuckle and hub bores before you install anything. Lube the new seals and O-rings, drive the seals in square, and torque the hub nuts to the Ford spec for your truck. Then vacuum-test the hub before the wheel goes back on.
