LEXIVON LX-185 3/4 Drive Click Torque Wrench 30-300 ft-lb

A 3/4-inch drive click torque wrench is the tool you reach for when a 1/2-inch wrench runs out of range. The LEXIVON LX-185 covers 30 to 300 ft-lb (40.7 to 406.8 Nm), which is exactly the band where front wheel-bearing axle nuts, driveshaft flange bolts, harmonic balancer bolts, and heavy truck lug nuts live. On most 4x4 and 3/4-ton front hubs the spindle nut spec lands between 175 and 300 ft-lb, and a standard 1/2-inch wrench topping out at 150 to 250 ft-lb will not get you there.

It ships pre-calibrated to +/-4 percent clockwise and comes with a signed calibration certificate and a traceable serial number, so you know the reading is real out of the box rather than guessing. The reversible ratchet head has a 24-tooth Cr-V gear that drives in both directions, which matters on axles and lugs that use left-hand and right-hand threads, though the wrench only measures torque in the clockwise direction. Torque is set on a dual scale, ft-lb and Nm, in 2 ft-lb increments, with high-contrast yellow markings on a black shaft that stay readable under a truck. When the set value is reached the wrench gives a firm, audible click you can also feel through the handle.

The body is a full-steel chrome-moly shaft built to ASME B107.300 and DIN ISO 6789, stored in a blow-molded case with the manual and certificate. One care note that trips people up: store it dialed all the way down to 30 ft-lb, not at the last setting you used, so the internal spring stays relaxed and holds calibration. Set it back to zero-scale before it goes in the case and it will stay accurate for years.
