Mechanically releases the parking pawl on Honda and Acura 9-speed shift-by-wire transmissions so a dead or no-start vehicle can be rolled into neutral.
Replaces Honda special tool 07AAA-TZ3A100. On a shift-by-wire 9-speed, Park is held by an electrically actuated pawl. Kill the battery or lose the transmission control module and the car stays locked in Park with no manual override at the shifter, which means you cannot roll it onto a flatbed or move it across the shop without dragging the rear wheels.
This tool reaches the park lock shaft from the engine bay. Run it on a 3/8 inch drive ratchet with a 3, 6 or 10 inch extension depending on how deep the shaft sits, rotate from the P position to N, and drop the spring-loaded pull pin to hold it in neutral. That is the same sequence the factory service procedure calls for. Carbon steel body with a corrosion-resistant finish, so it takes repeated torque without twisting.
Fits Honda Pilot 2016-2022, Passport 2019-2025, Ridgeline 2020-2026, Odyssey 2018-2019, and Acura MDX 2016-2020 and TLX 2015-2020 with the 3.5L V6 and the 9-speed shift-by-wire automatic. Important: never crank or start the engine with the tool installed. Doing so will damage the transmission internally.
