Locks the flywheel or flexplate so it cannot spin while you torque converter, balancer, or flywheel bolts on any GM LS or LT engine.
Torquing a torque converter bolt, a flywheel bolt, or a harmonic balancer bolt means nothing if the engine just rotates on you. A pry bar in the ring gear is how teeth get chipped and knuckles get busted. This holding tool ends that fight. It bolts to the starter flange, swings its steel teeth into the flexplate ring gear, and locks the whole rotating assembly solid so you can pull a clean torque reading without a second person leaning on the crank.
The best part is you do not have to drop the transmission to use it. It fits with the trans still bolted up, mounting through the starter bolt holes, which makes it just as useful for a converter R and R on the lift as it is on an engine stand. It fits every GM Gen III, IV, and V engine, so one tool covers the entire LS and LT family from a 4.8 truck motor to an LT4.
It is machined from billet aluminum in Wichita, Kansas, and it does not flex under load. Kit includes the holding tool and two mounting bolts. Ships from the USA.
