Pulls blind-hole pilot, input, and wheel hub bearings square out of the bore with expanding internal collets and external jaw pullers.
This is a full internal and external bearing puller set built around one job: getting a bearing, race, or bushing out of a housing without hammering on it and without scoring the bore. The external jaw pullers grip a bearing from the outside on shafts and hubs. The internal collet pullers drop into a blind hole, expand behind the bearing's inner race, and pull it straight out - which is the only clean way to pull a blind-hole bearing you cannot reach from behind.
On a transmission bench this covers the work you hit constantly: pilot bearings in the crank, input and output shaft bearings, extension housing bushings, pump body bushings, and the tail housing seal area. On the vehicle side the adapters fit front and rear wheel hub assemblies on most domestic, European, and Asian passenger cars and light trucks. Because force is applied evenly through the machined adapters instead of through a punch and a hammer, the housing bore, the spindle, and the shaft come through the job undamaged.
Puller heads are permanently stamped with their size, so you pick the right collet by reading it instead of test-fitting six of them. The tooling is alloy steel with a heat-treat, and the handle is over-molded so it does not turn in a greasy glove. Everything stores in a blow-molded case that keeps the collets in order - the whole kit weighs 10.36 lb and the case measures 15.94 x 9.84 x 2.56 inches, so it stows on a shelf or goes in the truck.
Typical failure this solves: a blind pilot or pocket bearing that will not come out with a slide-hammer hook because there is nothing to hook. The expanding internal collet seats behind the race and pulls it square, instead of you packing the bore with grease and driving it out.
