Lisle 12980 Bearing Race and Seal Driver Master Set

Nine hardened driver discs and a driver handle that let you seat wheel bearing races and axle seals square in the bore instead of walking them in with a punch and hammer. Each disc contacts the race on its full face, so the load goes straight down the bore centerline and you are not peening the race edge or gouging the housing.

The discs are reversible. One side is stepped to pilot inside a bearing cup and drive on the outer race shoulder; flip the disc over and the flat face drives seals flush without touching the seal lip or the garter spring. That covers the two jobs you hit most on a rear axle: cup and cone races in the housing ends and carrier, then the axle seal behind them.

Same set does transmission and transfer case work - extension housing seals, output shaft seals, tailshaft bushings on a rear-wheel-drive case, and front pump seals when you have a disc that matches the seal OD. Nine sizes cover most common wheel bearings on domestic cars and light trucks; check the seal or race OD against the discs before you start so you are not driving on the wrong shoulder.

Ships in the molded clam shell it comes in, which keeps the discs in order and stops them rolling around a drawer and picking up nicks. Nicked driver faces are what leave marks on a new seal case.
