Cut-to-fit kickdown cable with stainless bracket for the GM TH350 so full-throttle downshifts work on any intake manifold or engine swap.
The Lokar KD-2350U is a kickdown cable kit with a stainless steel bracket for the GM Turbo 350 (TH350) three-speed automatic, with a black cable housing. On a TH350 the kickdown cable operates the detent valve, which gives you the forced downshift when you floor it. Shift points and firmness are handled separately by the vacuum modulator, so this cable is about getting a dependable passing-gear downshift, not line pressure.
The kit is built to adapt to different intake manifolds, which is where factory cables fail on a hot rod or a swap: the carburetor sits in a new spot, the old cable is too short or pulls at an angle, and the downshift either never happens or the cable binds. The housing is braided over a purpose-extruded liner rather than brake hose, so the inner cable keeps sliding freely through years of underhood heat, and the aluminum end fittings use a ferrule so the cable does not fray where it clamps. The U suffix means you route it, trim it to length, and terminate it with the supplied hardware.
Set it so the detent is pulled only at the very end of throttle travel. If it is adjusted too tight the transmission can drop a gear before wide open, and if it is too loose you lose the kickdown entirely. Road test with a wide-open-throttle run from about 30 mph to confirm a clean downshift.
