Billet flywheel holder that bolts to the starter flange to lock the flexplate while you break loose or torque the crank bolt, balancer, or converter bolts on GM LS and LT engines.
This is a billet aluminum flywheel and flexplate holding tool for GM LS and LT engines. It bolts to the two starter-mount bolt holes on the block and its teeth mesh with the ring gear on the flexplate, locking the crankshaft so it cannot spin while you work. That is exactly what you need when a GM crank bolt calls for something like 240 ft-lbs plus another 130 to 140 degrees of turn, well past 300 ft-lbs of real torque, and there is nothing else holding the engine still.
Use it any time you have to fight the crank: breaking loose or final-torquing the harmonic balancer bolt, the crankshaft bolt, torque converter to flexplate bolts, or the flexplate bolts themselves. Because it grabs the ring gear teeth instead of prying on a bolt head, it takes the load the right way and keeps you from rounding a fastener or slipping a breaker bar.
Fitment covers GM Gen III, IV, and V engines and all LS variants, including LS1, LT1, LT4, LSX, LS3, LM7, LR4, LQ4, LS6, and L59. It mounts to the starter bolt flange, so it works whether the engine is on a stand or still in the truck. Machined billet aluminum with a powder-coated finish holds up where the cheap welded steel holders crack a tooth. The kit includes the holding tool and two mounting bolts. Ships from the USA.
