Mobil 3309 ATF for Aisin TF-80SC, Case of 6 Quarts

JWS 3309 is its own animal. The Aisin-Warner boxes that call for it — the TF-80SC and TF-81SC in Volvo, Ford, Mazda and Land Rover, and the Toyota A340/A650/U140 family — run slip-controlled torque converter lockup, and the converter clutch is calibrated around this fluid's friction curve. Put a generic multi-vehicle ATF in one and the usual result is lockup shudder at light throttle around 40 to 55 mph, plus a soft or flared 2-3 shift once the fluid heats up. Mobil 3309 is built to the JWS 3309 and GM 9986195 quality levels and is compatible with Toyota T-IV and T-III, so it holds the frictional characteristics those valve bodies expect.

Six one-quart bottles per case. A pan drop and drain-and-fill on a TF-80SC pulls roughly four quarts, so one case covers a standard service with two spare quarts for topping off; three drain-and-fill cycles on the same unit take two cases. On the Toyota side, an A340E or U140 drain-and-fill is about three to four quarts. Fill through the check plug or standpipe and set the level with the transmission at the manufacturer's specified fluid temperature and the engine running — these units have no dipstick and will read wrong cold.

ExxonMobil also lists it as compatible with Ford WSS-M2C924-A and VW TL 52540-A. It has a high viscosity index, so it does not thin out under sustained high-temperature towing or thicken enough to starve the pump on a cold start, and it is compatible with factory synthetic rubber seal materials with good foam resistance.
